In the 1970's or 1980's Shasta lake receded to an all time low and the remnants of this structure surfaced. When the construction of the dam was complete they had cut this off at such a low point that it was thought it would never be visible again. It has surfaced twice now.
I kind of can't believe that this thing is real, it looks like a "in the future..." drawing come to life.
I think this is to bring concrete cement...
