My Florida grandparents drove a 50's Plymouth station wagon that had nearly the entire floorboards eaten away by salt. It looked a lot like this picture.

I learned to drive on my Grandmother's '54 Buick Special (4 door sedan), virtually the same interior. The starter was part of the accelerator. You pressed down and it started, then you just used the pedal the same as normal! I was 6'2" and could almost stretch out across the front seat.
I can't believe i am saying this but cute shoes!! And it really doesn't matter where the dashboard is going to hit her because the steering wheel will get there first and it would crush her, it's so big.
It's pointing to her face, not her heart. :D
