Atlantic City circa 1914. "The Boardwalk and hotels -- Chalfonte and Haddon Hall." 8x10 inch glass negative, Detroit Publishing Company. View full size.
Little do they know now, but in just 21 short years that boardwalk they're strolling along will become the most valuable property in Monopoly!
I stayed at the Llewellyn which was directly behind the Chalfonte and run by the Chalfonte, in the 1930s and early 40s with my family. It had less traffic and was very private. We enjoyed all that Atlantic City had to offer in a very quiet way.
