The lady is the daughter of Congressman Joseph Mansfield, of Texas, who took complete charge of his Washington office during his illness in 1922. Her photo appeared in several newspaper articles praising her abilities, including this item in the Nov. 12, 1922, issue of the Oregonian.
Alas, the engagement of Miss Mansfield to Mr Corona was dashed into the rocks when the handsome Mr. Wood swept her off of her feet. Mr. Smith was unaware of this until that fateful day when he found her Underwood
