I love the boy in the background (to the left) carrying his less than enthusiastic dog into the surf. We have pictures of us doing that as kids when WE visited the beach with our dogs (who didn't want to go into the water any more than that poor pooch did, albeit 60 years after this shot was taken )
The old girl always photographed beautifully. The Atlantic City pictures are some of the most interesting to appear on this site.
The Human Niagara Falls consisted of an incline upon which was fastened a series of rollers about 18 in number The rollers were about 7 feet wide by 18 inches In diameter Persons using the device seated themselves upon the topmost roller of the incline and were then propelled by the force of gravity over the rollers to the bottom The weight of the person passing over them caused the rollers to revolve There was a space of from three sixteenths to one quarter of an inch left between the rollers for clearance so that they would revolve without touching
