I love the little vendor's booth set against the building. No government rules or regulations to keep a man from making a living. There was one in the Ohio town I grew up in the '40s.
[Then as now, street vendors in cities of any size generally had to be licensed. There were numerous ordinances regulating where and how they could conduct their business. - Dave]
