Circa 1910. "Ford, J., Mrs., group." An outlier among Harris & Ewing's generally sedate-and-sober studio portraits. 8x10 glass negative. View full size.
This group has all the earmarks of a vaudeville or musical comedy stage act of the period, or people emulating one. Also, note that women performers were often billed as "Mrs." This or That at the time.
Love those hat and pants. And I'd be smiling too with two lovely ladies by my side.
They're telling that fellow to keep his hands on his straw skimmer.
I can't decide if the bows on his shoes are for comic effect, or if that was just the style at the time (like tying an onion to one's belt).
Those twins are adorable and judging by the hat position, Mr. Ford agrees. His face is priceless.
