The year: 1935; the place: somewhere in Washington, D.C.; the lady with the Ford: unknown, but notable enough to have been in the Harris & Ewing archive. Maybe someone out there recognizes Great-Grandma. 5x7 glassneg. View full size.
My grandmother lived in DC from 1935 until 1975. She worked at the Pentagon for a number of years. Back in the day, this must have been a great place to live / work.
I would love to see this photo in color. This lady's attire is so sharp! What a contrast to the dustbowl photos of the same time.
A lot of dents (front end and running board) for a car that's only a year or two old. No wonder it's hard to find straight fenders 80 years later.
My mom would have been 22 in 1935.
she ought to be leaning on at least an Auburn, not that Ford.
