OTY: I do believe the fellow with the cylindrical gizmos is carrying two boxes of hats. Many years ago I saw similar devices being toted round Manhattan's garment didtrict.
I believe at one time, probably the last half of the 19th and early 20th century, there were more people of Irish extraction in and around Boston than anywhere else in the United States. Also, what do you suppose that young man is carrying in those two drum-like parcels with handles on the side? None of this has anything to do with the price of eggs, just random thoughts that roll around in my head. Somebody please answer the phone.
P.S. Thank you Flatbush, that seems logical.
