Norfolk, Virginia, circa 1910. "Commercial Place." A different perspective on the Civil War monument and Coca-Cola sign seen in the previous post. 8x10 inch dry plate glass negative, Detroit Publishing Company. View full size.
Commercial Place does not lack for places to get your spirits. You can start off at B.A. Williams & Co. Wines and Liquors on the left hand side of the street. If they don't have what you're looking for, you simple cross the street to Legun Distilling Co. Wines & Liquors. Nothing there either? Try next door at White Bros. Liquors.
Real life teamsters awaiting their loads. Henry Ford had not made much of an inroad judging from this and the previous photo of Norfolk.
I'd spot the Coca-Cola sign and walk down to Murray's Lunch. Once inside, I'd look up and say "Gimme a Pepsi please."
I do NEED A biscuit! For 5 cents you can't go wrong.
It'll go well with my Coke.
