Washington, D.C., circa 1925. "Irish Free State legation, Florida Avenue." Harris & Ewing Collection glass negative. View full size.
I think I can see the photographer and the camera in the reflection on the rear car window.
The whole building is Russia House, a hip, totally Euro restaurant/club. Walk into it and you feel like you stepped on to the set of Eastern Promises. Minus the Viggo Mortensen.
There is some retail to the left. Plus a wine bar next to that.
1800 Connecticut Avenue N.W. at Florida Avenue. The Florida entrance appears to have been changed to open the ground floor for retail.
The perfect subject for Saint Patrick's Day! I hope every one has a chance to celebrate their "Irishness"!
The sign in the window indicates that they do "Marcel Weaving and Manicuring" -- I didn't know this was popular in the Irish Free State!
