The two closest buildings both exist as the Himelhoch and Claridge House apartments. The Himelhoch used to be a department store; the top of the building still looks the same, but the first few stories were completely remodeled.
The second building, the Claridge House, had a penthouse added in the fifties, and a new steel skin put on in the sixties. It now looks nothing like this picture. Here's an article with the before and after.
