The brick building remains at the SW corner of 26th and Valdez. The intersection has been realigned since, again with the urban renewal and traffic flow upgrades.
There seems to be an affinity between 1949-'52 Chevrolets and fire hydrants!
Must be an Oakland thing, as my '50 two-door lived its whole life in Los Angeles and never so much as grazed one.
