I think I am about the same age as the kid on the right...riding in pickup "beds" at that time was fun...before it was a "no no"...
Using Google Street View: this photo was shot from the intersection of Miner St and (North) Broadway -- looking westward along Miner Street. The building to the left of the hotel is gone; replaced by a corner parking lot -- with a historic marker.
